RetroNews, the newspaper website of the BnF
To increase digitization of newspapers and make those precious resources more accessible, BnF-Partenariats, a subsidiary of the BnF, has elaborated and developed a new online service entirely dedicated to old newspapers : retronews.fr . More than hundred different newspapers are digitized, enhanced and put online each month on this site, accessible to everybody.
What is RetroNews?
RetroNews, the newspaper website of the Bibliothèque nationale de France, gives freely access to more than 2000 newspaper titles published between 1631 and 1951. Complementary to the resources presented on Gallica, RetroNews is all in one a digital space to consult archives, a research tool and a media for everybody to discover the history of newspaper archives.
The archives on RetroNews come either from already digitized resources by the BnF and also accessible on Gallica or are digitized by BNF-Partenariats. You may research all those newspapers in Gallica, in the general catalogue of the BnF and on data.bnf.fr.
RetroNews offers advanced research tools for press collections and complementary editorial contents (articles, large formats, video, audio…) to discover history throughout newspapers.
