Accessible via an interactive plan, a 15-point heritage itinerary provides access to explanations and iconographic documents on the history of the site and its evolution over the centuries. You will also be able to sneak into the Oval Room’s inaccessible areas and admire the paintings in the Mazarin Chamber.
Some fifty of the Museum’s works, indicated by pictograms in the display cases, are accompanied by in-depth commentaries and complementary iconographic or sound resources. Works are renewed on a regular basis.
For visitors with disabilities
Visual impairment – A special itinerary in the form of a geolocated guided tour has been designed for visually impaired and blind visitors. At each stage of the itinerary, they access:
- historical explanations of the areas covered
- audiodescriptions of the site’s 10 tactile stations
- audio commentaries on some fifteen works
- the sound versions of video interviews included in the Museum’s itinerary
Please note: the geolocation function only works on the “BnF Richelieu” app available at the iOS and Android stores.
Hearing impairment – For hearing-impaired visitors, the itinerary includes 35 videos in FSL. Contents in French Sign Language are identified by pictograms:
New: A game itinerary in search of Richelieu’s animals
Where are Richelieu’s animals hiding? This new 15-stage game itinerary invites young and old alike to set off in search of the mysterious animals that inhabit the site. Which animal could you put in the garden? Who touched the tiger in the Valuables Cabinet?
Who will win all the game’s animals…so as to better set them free?
An audioguide for visitors to exhibitions in the Mansart Gallery (in French)
Exhibitions in the Mansart Gallery are accompanied by an audioguide in which artists and/or exhibition curators commentate on a selection of works.
At the moment, you can visit the Damien Deroubaix. On So Dark a Day (page In French) exhibition, which runs from 15 October 2024 to 16 February 2025, and listen to the artist and its curator Cécile Pocheau-Lesteven.
